A performance on the politics of the body in which choreographer and dancer Ioana Marchidan cuts short the collective body memory, identifying and bringing to the surface deep-rooted gestures, in order to unravel and decompose them into an abstract choreography. This cataloguing and re-editing of the memory of submission, the suppression and repression of the meanings of gestures integrates the audience as a participant in the dialogue, as a submissive observer. Choosing to construct the discourse in this way, a bare back in a space that oscillates between dark halo and transparent walls, implies vulnerability. And vulnerability implies an assumed fragility, which allows to focus the message on the essence: the destructive force of the abuse of power.
