Examines intimacy, alienation, and our longing for authentic connection in the digital age. Two performers’ relationship to a mundane prop transforms, exploring technology as a surrogate for human connection, with an original score by Dylan Fujioka.
Directed by Mamie Green, Volta fuses physicality, theatricality & multidisciplinary approaches to performance. Green holds a BFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts and has performed and taught across the US, Europe, and the UK and is the recipient of prestigious awards and grants from the German Consulate General, the US Embassy, Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Community Engagement, and more.
Named in Fjord Review’s Best of Dance 2023 and Bachtrack’s Young Choreographers to Watch, Green has been commissioned and presented at the Laguna Art Museum, Jeffrey Deitch, MAXXI National Museum, East Miami Hotel, Brand Library, Neutra House VDL, Loyola Marymount University, Museum of Neon Art, Ace Hotel Brooklyn, MAK Center at the Schindler House, New Hollywood Theater, among others, with upcoming engagements at Skirball Cultural Center.
