If art is a glance to the future, performing arts are the recreation of that future here and now. From innovation and risk, ACT FESTIVAL celebrate 15 years programming emerging creators that are marking the future scenic agenda.
This edition we’ll analyze the myth of teenager Lolita from a new perspective, we’ll go back to the Barcelona from year 92 to observe the instrumentalization of the city and its influence on the girls at that time, we’ll immerse also in a methapore about capitalism as huge monster, as a Leviathan that absorbes us, or we’ll face to our own image, to our masks.
ACT 2018 is a festival that will put on hold the reality, where there is not clear what is fiction and what materia, image or body, puppet or puppeter. At the present time, not surprising then a critic to the sistem or the reapropiation of some of its significants to rethink our prospect.
ACT FESTIVAL will take place from 30th of May to 2nd of June in Bilbao and Barakaldo. Four days with around fifteen short pieces, performing arts courses and meetings with artists, programmers and audience.
