Three skilled dancers present us with a profound reflection on themes that often go unnoticed in our daily lives. Routine, the relentless passage of time, the intricate processes of decision-making and, lastly, the inevitable outcomes. Is it all merely a matter of chance, or is there a hidden purpose behind every action?

Fugite is an independent laboratory for artistic practice, research and production, based in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Founded in 2015 by Fher Guerra and the current director, Alex Valdés, it was born out of the curiosity of two restless minds. Fugite began as a space for experimentation and growth. In 2017, this laboratory took a major leap forward by implementing a daily training programme that attracted a community of over 15 artists eager to explore new creative frontiers. That same year, the project “Cumbia en la Sangre” was born, in collaboration with Edith Gordiano, which consolidated Fugite’s presence both nationally and internationally.  Throughout its history, Fugite has shown that art is a journey in constant evolution and that collaboration and experimentation are its driving force. Its commitment to artistic exploration and the creation of transformative works continues to inspire artists and audiences around the world.

The company’s director, Alex Valdés, will give a masterclass entitled “CUMBIA IN THE BLOOD” on Friday 5 June, 10.30am–12.30pm at La Fundición.
