Finally, despite epidemics, lockdowns and communication breakdowns, the Catalan company is heading to Seoul, to the DURI THEATRE.

Ararat (2019) is the first creation by Ester Guntín in collaboration with long-term collaborator Héctor Puigdomènech. The work is a duet on muteness and loss, inspired by Armenian cultural memory and the fractured legacy of Komitas Vardapet—a seminal figure whose silence until death still echoes as both wound and resistance. Rather than narrating history, the piece inhabits its aftermath: an introspective journey where memory dissolves into dream, and distance from reality becomes a necessary condition for survival.
Through minimalist movement rooted in ancient Armenian geometric principles and the films of Sergei Parajanov, the performers embody states of confinement, ritual, and internal exile. The body becomes both archive and ruin, tracing a language that emerges precisely where speech has failed.
Ararat does not attempt to restore what was lost; it dwells in the impossibility of return.
